First announcement

Dear colleagues,
we are now preparing the TBNET meeting which will be held on September 11th at the Allgemeines Krankenhaus Wien (Vienna), starting at 9 am. The meeting will be hosted by Stefan Winkler from Vienna. In the evening there will be a nice dinner at the Restaurant Pfarrwirt in Vienna and we will soon ask you to sign up for the meeting and the dinner. During the meeting we will again present the proceedings of ongoing projects and we will discuss new project proposals and forthcoming TBNET activities. New proposals should be submitted by JULY 15, filling the attached form "new proposal.doc"
At this stage, we would like to ask you to nominate candidates for the steering committee who shall be elected for the next 3 year term starting after the meeting in September 2009 until the fall 2012. The following positions are for nomination and election:
1. Diagnostics (currently held by Delia Goletti)
2. Microbiology and drug-resistance (currently held by Daniela Cirillo)
3. Clinical tuberculosis (currently held by Graham Bothamley)
4. Epidemiolopgy and Statistics (currently held by Frank van Leth)
A one time consecutive renewal of the mandate is possible. Please nominate candidates, or express your own interest to join the steering committee for a specific position. Candidates should briefly present themselves in 2-3 paragraphs on a WORD document and should preferably also submit an electronic portrait. Invitation

Dear friends and colleagues,
please find attached the invitation and the agenda for the annual TBNET meeting which will be held on September 11th at the lecture room 21 (8th floor) at the Allgemeine Krankenhaus (General Hospital) in Vienna.
For the evening of September 11th, our local host Stefan Winkler has organized a dinner at the restaurant Pfarrwirt (Pfarrplatz 5) in Vienna and we sincerely hope that you can join us for the TBNET dinner as well.
